How Digital Social Media is Taking Over the World

From the old times, the world is continuously in the state of improvement. Whenever one feels the need of something, he invents it, the competitions begin and the modification start to take place in the invention making it better each time. In this way, the world today has become a very easy and convenient place to live in. when once reaching the person to talk to him included traveling, writing etc., now we just need to take out the mobile phone from our pocket and can video chat with each other.

We can stay connected to a friend across the ocean and can get to know what’s happening there. This is all possible because of the digital social media. This is the digital era where people are united on a single platform and are only a click away. this has changed the trend of advertising business, making friends, acquiring occupation, earning money etc.

According to a survey,  the number of people accessing the internet via a mobile phone increasing by 60.3% to 818.4 million in the last 2 years here are some facts and figures about different social media websites that demonstrates its significance.

Facebook:

Here are the survey results held recently in the first quarter of 2013.

Facebook daily active users have reached 665 million and monthly active users have passed 1.1 billion for the first time. This is a huge population and one can take benefit out of it.751 million mobile users access Facebook every month out of which mobile only active users make up total 189 million.

Twitter:

With 44% growth from June 2012 to March 2013 and 288 million monthly active users, twitter demonstrates that 21% of the world’s internet population are using Twitter every month. It has over 500 million registered accounts. The use of twitter is more common in the people from age 50 above rather than the teens and youth.

YouTube:

 1 billion unique monthly visitors were recorded with 6 billion hours of videos are watched every month. In last May, 3 billion hours were watched and then the number of hours reached 4 million in august 2012 but in March 2013, the watch count was recorded 6 billion. YouTube reaches more U.S. adults ages 18-34 than any cable network.

This is the digital social media era and wise people are taking advantage of it.
